It was a big news last week when Oscar winner and expert wheel-woman Charlize Theron officially signed on for Universal’s Fast and Furious 8.
And to formally welcome the actress to the cast, Dwayne Johnson posted this photo on his Instagram account.
Want to officially welcome my good bud and all around bad ass Charlize Theron to FAST & FURIOUS 8. When MTV asked her how she felt about coming in and playing the villain, her response was classic and the reason why I love that woman.. she said, "I'm coming to mess that shit up!" #WreckShit #BringIt #FF8 #DaddysGottaGoToWork
No further details have been revealed for her role, except that the Mad Max: Fury Road star will play the villain in the next installment of the Fast and Furious franchise. Game of Thrones actor Kristofer Hivju has also been recruited to play a bad guy. Aside from that, Jason Statham’s Deckard Shaw, who was the main villain in Fast 7, is also expected to return.
The movie begins shooting mid-April this year and is slated for release on April 4, 2017.
