New Photo from Stephen King’s ‘It’ Remake Finds Pennywise the Clown Hiding in the Sewers

In an attempt to further ramp up the marketing of Stephen King’s It remake, Entertainment Weekly has released another exclusive (and terrifying) photo of Pennywise the Clown played by Allegiant actor Bill Skarsgård.

This time, the murderous jokester – dressed in his frilly outfit with white face paint – is seen to be taking cover from one of the sewers underneath the fictional town of Derry, Maine. Is he hiding from someone or is he biding his time before going in for the kill? You be the judge.

Director Andy Muschetti (Mama) remarks about the killer clown’s ability to not hide in plain sight, saying:

Pennywise shows up, he’s front and center, and he does his show. He has an act. So it’s weird all the time, and every little thing implies a further threat.

This new horror outing is set to have an R rating and will consist of two parts – the first one will stay true to the original story as it circles around the kids of the 80s, while the sequel will see the return of these kids 30 years later.

Part I of It opens September 8, 2017.
