Alexander Skarsgard is King of the Jungle in New The Legend of Tarzan Trailer

“You are Tarzan. You may not like who you are. You may have enemies, but you need to go home.”

Warner Bros. has released a brand new trailer for their upcoming summer blockbuster, The Legend of Tarzan.

From David Yates, director of the last four Harry Potter films, comes a modern take on the story of Edgar Rice Burrough’s well-known jungle hero. Alexander Skarsgard plays the role of Tarzan alongside a cast that also includes Margot Robbie, Christoph Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson, and Djimon Hounsou.

The film takes place years after Tarzan (Skarsgard) left the jungles of Africa to lead a gentrified life with his wife (Robbie) as John Clayton III, Lord Greystoke. However, he is invited back to Congo to serve as a trade emissary of the Parliament, completely oblivious of the treacherous plot orchestrated by Capt. Leon Rom (Waltz) to exploit Congo.

Aside from Tarzan, Yates is also attached to another Warner Bros. tentpole this year. He is currently directing the upcoming Harry Potter spinoff series Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which is slated for a November 18 release.

The Legend of Tarzan swings to theaters on July 1.
