Blue Sky Studios has released a brand new trailer for Ferdinand, an all-new animated comedy from the studio that gave us Ice Age and Rio.
Based on Munro Leaf and Robert Lawson’s beloved children’s book The Story of Ferdinand, the film is set in Spain and tells the story of a giant bull with a big heart. Ferdinand, a Spanish fighting bull, prefers smelling flowers rather than wrestling with matadors in arenas. Despite his massive size and strength, he’d rather go for a pacifistic way of living. But after being wrongly accused as a dangerous beast, he is apprehended and taken away from his home. Committed to returning to his family, he gathers a group of misfits to embark on an incredible journey back home.
John Cena lends his voice to bring the titular character to life. Kate McKinnon, Gina Rodriguez, Daveed Diggs, Gabriel Iglesias, Bobby Cannavale, David Tennant, Anthony Anderson, Flula Borg, Sally Phillips, Boris Kodjoe, Jerrod Carmichael, Raúl Esparza, Karla Martínez, Miguel Ángel Silvestre, Peyton Manning, and Juanes round out the rest of the voice cast.
Directed by Carlos Saldanha (Rio), Ferdinand charges to US theaters on December 15th.
