Universal Pictures has finally released the first full trailer for Jason Bourne, the fifth film in the Bourne franchise and a follow-up to 2007’s The Bourne Ultimatum.
In this sequel, Bourne is drawn out of the shadows once again to face new webs of intrigue and conspiracies.
Matt Damon reprises his role as the titular bulked-up super spy alongside returning director Paul Greengrass, who helmed 2004’s The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum.
Speaking to EW, Greengrass said, “It’s the kind of action sequence you can only see in a Bourne movie. It marries action with a really intense, emotionally truthful next chapter in the Jason Bourne story.”
The story is written by Damon, Greengrass, and longtime Bourne editor Christopher Rouse, and features returning characters played by Joan Allen, Julia Stiles, and Scott Shepherd. Newcomers Tommy Lee Jones, Alicia Vikander, Riz Ahmed, and Vincent Cassel round out the rest of the cast.
Jason Bourne opens in US theaters on July 29.
