It was 8 months ago when our first glimpse of Warner Bros’ highly anticipated superhero pic Justice League was revealed by way of a Comic-Con trailer. But since then, no other footage was released, except for a couple of set videos and some behind-the-scene shots. That is, until now.
Exactly one year after the theatrical release of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice (it opened in March 25, 2016 to US theaters), the studio has finally unleashed the second full-length trailer for the all-star superhero film. And boy, was this worth the goddamn wait, you guys!
The brand new footage comes after a series of short teasers and posters for each member of the league surfaced online. Zack Snyder returns as the director for this follow-up, which sees Batman (Ben Affleck) and Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) working together to find and assemble the ultimate DC hero squad that includes Aquaman (Jason Momoa), The Flash (Ezra Miller), and Cyborg (Ray Fisher). Together, this unprecedented league of heroes must come face to face with the nefarious Steppenwolf (Ciarán Hinds) before it’s “too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.”
Check out the awesome trailer below and be ready for some goosebumps!
The film is said to shift its overall tone to a lighter one after BvS got criticized harshly for being too dark and sentimental. And judging from the playful and comedic side of its characters shown from both trailers, as well as the fact that this new clip is just screaming with pure awesomeness, it looks like DC is on its way to revamp its grim image.
Justice League also stars Jesse Eisenberg, Amy Adams, Amber Heard, Willem Defoe, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, J.K. Simmons. The film opens November 17, 2017.
Here’s the official synopsis of the film:
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
