After the Daylight Saving Time clocked its way in the US, Disney released a 30-second Alice Through the Looking Glass TV spot, which hints at the possibility that an extra hour was stolen right before the time switch.
In this follow-up to Tim Burton’s 2010 adaptation Alice in Wonderland, newcomer Sacha Baron Cohen plays Time, a part-human, part-clock character, who could be accountable for the missing hour, as the spot suggests.
Mia Wasikowska reprises her role as Alice, who returns to Underland and attempts to save the Mad Hatter from losing his “Muchness.”
Anne Hathaway, Johnny Depp, and Helena Bonham Carter are returning for their original roles, alongside new cast members Cohen and Rhys Ifans. The film also stars the voices of Stephen Fry, Timothy Spall, Michael Sheen and the late Alan Rickman.
Alice Through the Looking Glass is directed by James Bobbin (The Muppets) from a script written by Linda Woolverton. It is expected to open May 27.
