New ‘Kong: Skull Island’ Trailer Brings Out The Biggest King Kong We’ll Ever See

Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures have released the first official look of the highly anticipated epic Kong: Skull Island during their Hall H presentation at this year’s Comic-Con.

Directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts (The Kings of Summer), this revamped origin story of the famed monster taps Tom Hiddleston in the lead role, alongside Brie Larson, John Goodman, and Samuel L. Jackson. The film follows Hiddleston and the rest of the team heading to the mysterious Skull Island only to come face to face with the massive beast.

Unlike the previous versions of the movie, Skull Island will feature a gigantic, 100-ft tall King Kong, making it the biggest variant of the mythological creature. This is a part of Legendary’s efforts to come up with a giant movie-monster universe, with plans of pitting King Kong against the studio’s other well-known monster, Godzilla.

Kong: Skull Island also stars John C. Reilly, Tian Jing, Corey Hawkins,Jason Mitchell, John Ortiz, Thomas Mann, Shea Whigham, Toby Kebbell, and Eugene Cordero. It is set to open in US theaters on March 10, 2015.

  • As much as I hate to say it, the trailer was such a disappointment to me. Maybe I’m not that keen on Tom Hiddleston but, I don’t know, it just didn’t scream “wow” to me. I’ll wait until I see another trailer before I make up my mind but for now it’s just a “meh” for me, even though I’m a huge Brie Larson fan. Nice blog btw.
