It’s been 11 years since we last saw the American version of the Japanese horror film by way of 2005’s The Ring 2. Now the series continues as Paramount released the trailer for its upcoming sequel Rings.
The third film sees the return of the well-dwelling ghost of Samara in the modern age as her haunting tools evolve from old VHS tapes to modern viral email messages.
Newcomer Matilda Anna Ingrid Lutz plays the role of Julia, a young woman who, unfortunately, watched the famed video and must now go through the ordeal of discovering the secrets behind the tape before her seven days are up.
Rings also stars Johnny Galecki, Lizzie Brochere, and Aimee Teegarden. The film is directed by F. Javier Gutierrez (Before the Fall) and is written by Jacob Aaron Estes, Akiva Goldsman, and David Loucka.
The movie crawls to US theaters on October 28th.
