Warner Bros. has unleashed the final trailer for J.K. Rowling’s Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them courtesy of Ellen Degeneres’ daytime talk show Ellen. The Harry Potter prequel serves as the first installment of a new cinematic trilogy written by Rowling herself.
Unlike the previous trailers, this one offers a closer look at some of the magical creatures involved in the movie, as well as a sneaking suspicion of an impending clash between wizards and No-Majs (American muggles).
Based on Rowling’s 2001 novel of the same name, Fantastic Beasts stars Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, an English magizoologist who runs into big trouble in 1920s New York after his remarkable briefcase full of magical creatures got unlocked. Together with fellow American witches and a non-magic pal, they go on a quest to hunt these beasts before it’s too late.
David Yates, director of the last 4 Potter films, is at the helm of this spin-off, with Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Dan Fogler, Colin Farrell, Ezra Miller, Samantha Morton, Ron Perlman, Carmen Ejogo and Jon Voight rounding up the rest of the cast.
Fantastic Beasts hits US theaters on November 18.
