Sony Pictures has dropped the first official trailer of the much-awaited book-to-film adaptation of Dan Brown’s best-selling novel Inferno.
The film brings back Tom Hanks as the famous Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon, who wakes up in an Italian hospital suffering from amnesia. He then teams up with Dr. Sienna Brooks to help him recover his memories and stop a psychopath from unleashing a deadly plague around the world.
Hanks reunites with director Ron Howard, making it the third installment of the Robert Langdon franchise after 2006’s The Da Vinci Code and 2009’s Angels & Demons. The film also stars Ben Foster, Omar Sy, and Irrfan Khan.
Inferno opens in US theaters on October 28, although the film sees an earlier release overseas starting October 12.
