First Wave of ‘Wonder Woman’ Reactions Call the Film the Best DC Movie So Far

In just a few more days, the world will finally get to witness Wonder Woman in all her ass-kicking glory as she finally makes her big screen debut this June.

Gal Gadot, who first made a terrific impression as Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, reprises her role as the titular Amazon princess in what will surely be a vibrant and action-packed origin story of the superhero.

This coming-of-age story is set in the backdrop of World War I and will naturally serve as the meat of the whole Wonder Woman film. However, sources close to production have discovered some additional plot points of the movie, including how it’ll work its way and connect to the rest of the DCEU films.

While the movie won’t come out until June 2nd, selected members of the press were lucky enough to take part in a special screening of the film. And even though their full reviews of the movie are still under embargo as of this time, they were, however, given the thumbs up to post their quick reactions to social media.

You can check their feedbacks below:

Warner Bros and DC have been bending over backward to come up with a superhero film that’s embraced not just by fans, but also by film critics. And with these first reactions from the press, it looks like they finally found their first big win in Wonder Woman. There’s a lot of pressure riding on this film, so it’s uplifting to see some members of the press go so far as saying that this is the best DC movie so far.

Wonder Woman, which is the third entry in the DC Extended Universe, is directed by Patty Jenkins from a script written by Geoff Johns and Allan Heinberg, and a story penned by Heinberg and Zack Snyder. The film also stars Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright, David Thewlis, Danny Huston, Elena Anaya, Ewen Bremner, and Saïd Taghmaoui.
